I bought this as a gift for my spouse who loves practicing visible mending, but needed better tools. They love it, and have noted that the instructions are nice and well written, and the construction quality is excellent.
Had this beautiful bit of reclaimed wood on the table all through the holidays. Kids and adults alike had fun re-arranging the boughs and decorating the tree with bits and bobs from christmas crackers. A lovely, ever-changing, solidly-made piece of interactive art that will surely become part of our winter traditions for years to come.
Love the craftsmanship and the thoughtfulness!!!
I thought I would have to throw away some of our favorite pieces of clothing when they got damaged but this loom is a game changer.
I was gifted a Swift darning loom and am so excited to use it (once we get home, where my hokey socks are waiting!). I also gave a trio of DIY recycled ornaments kits out to family this year, and we were so impressed by the beautiful results -- cereal boxes into art!
This loom is such a great investment (it's made beautifully and ethically as many others have said) but it's also a great gift to yourself. I have recovered so much of my time and energy by using this instead of scrolling my phone. And my husband loves having socks that don't have holes anymore, so that's a plus!!! ( Also a hit with cats <3 )Highly recommend.
I loved how easy the instructions were and added my first rainbow patch to my favourite, well worn plaid shirt.
I am now impatiently waiting for something else to mend.
Beautiful quality, I’ve been working with a much smaller and sharper loom and I’m so grateful for this one.
I ordered the extra weft pick to go along with my extra long work surface, and I’m so glad I did! It’s super handy to be able to have it to change the length of cool art. The quality is superb, and I couldn’t possibly be happier. 🥰
I’m so pleased that I got the extra long work surface along with my Swift Darner! Having the extra length to create cool things was immediately useful for me! Being able to salvage things that would’ve been thrown away as rubbish is awesome, and my ‘perfectly imperfect’ version did that same job for a case I’d salvaged and turned into something useful!
One of my favourite things is turning objects that might otherwise have been discarded as no longer of any use, into something useful and gorgeous. And not only are the ‘perfect’ Swift Darners made from fully recycled objects, but these ‘perfectly imperfect’ ones are the apparent underdog of that world. The underdog is right up there with my favourites, so I couldn’t possibly be happier to be able to use this for creating other gorgeous things. ❤️
I bought three pairs for my super cycling friends and they love them. Beautiful thoughtfully crafted items as always!
I am thrilled to have a way to mend my sweaters, socks, pants and more! Well-made loom is well worth the cost.
I’ve looked at many small weavers. They are round, but my favourite - and easiest - woven mends are squares. With this weaver you don’t lose any surface area. Who knew?!
YES, our thoughts exactly Carol! That and we're not so skilled with the wood lathe yet ;) Rectangle = max surface area + minimum waste! Thanks so much for pointing this out.
I have had so much fun already fixing a hole and doing a brand label cover up. Need to find more things to cover in criss crossed threads…
this made me laugh. thanks so much, and happy mending! (and logo cover-ups. byeeee boring branding!)
This is such a well-made and incredible tool! I love the wood and it's easy to use. I envision much happy mending (thank you wool moths!). Wonderful product.
This is the right way to learn the art of darning. From my very first attempt, my mends have been pretty. I’m showing them to all of my friends. Everyone thinks the garments are better mended than they were brand-new. I’m enjoying this very much!
Apart from the fact that the loom is well made and accompanied by a great little instructions book, I was so very happy with the packaging it came in. Carton envelope, stiched not sticked (great idea!), loom wrapped in cotton fabric remnant (that I will surely use in a project). This is the "bestest" wrapping ever!
This is an excellent and easy to use darning loom. What sets it apart from the rest is how Elisha and Scott have figured out how to make it out of almost 100% recycled material (I don’t think the screws were recycled, but maybe?). Making the tie from tee shirt was genius, and even the minimal packaging was clever and intentional. It’s a beautiful product that will age gracefully and let you create some fun and interesting patches.
I was so excited to get this loom and have already put it to work on some tops and jumpers which needed repair. I'm so stoked that it's the perfect way to use bits of yarn which aren't enough for a full project. I took it to mending club and everyone was intrigued and duly impressed.
this is the most beautiful mending tool i have. It is a joy to use
These menders are excellent quality! There is absolutely NO comparison with the cheapy plastic versions you may have seen! Lots of great videos on YouTube to get you started also!
