Extra-small work surface

The Swift Darning Loom comes with a very generous work surface (dimensions approximately 3" x 4.5"), but we've found that in some cases this is TOO BIG! So, we dug through our scrap bin to create an option that's perfect for small socks and other hard-to-reach areas you need to patch.

Standing proudly 2.25" tall with a curved bottom edge, this mini work surface was designed to accommodate the tapered toe of a small sock. It's not just for kids! This shape fits into the toe of my own (small adult) hand-knit socks where our standard one does not.

I've also found myself reaching for this compact option at times where I "could have" used the standard size board, such as while darning the purple cuff you see pictured. In this case, the small work surface allowed me to get a better grip on the sleeve hem while still leaving plenty of space to repair some fairly extensive damage.

(Did I get an "after" photo of the sock I used in these sample photos? Nope! This was repaired at a yarn festival, and when things get busy, photography falls off my radar very quickly. I'll have to share an update asap, but I'm proud to finally have these online...since, um, we made these in ~2023 and you're seeing them for the first time now in late 2025! Hooray little wins!)
