A little mend for a little spill.

A little mend for a little spill.

Darning isn't just for knits!

Everyone, please meet Scott's favourite outfit. This sweater and mustard-coloured jeans are well-loved, and make an appearance whenever a fancy occasion aligns with fall weather. Especially when the leaves are begging for it like this!

This particular fancy fall-weather occasion sort of has a double entendre, because, well, shortly after this photo Scott took quite the tumble on the sidewalk, tearing a hole in the knee of these beloved pants. (With scrapes and bruises to match.)

We patched them up with a little darn on our Swift Darning Loom, in a colour that happened to be a perfect match for the garment! I added the extra stitches around the outside for extra cute, but they are also functional - further anchoring the patch into the fabric.

Soon the sweater will need mending too, and we will be just as delighted to patch that up. Mending tells stories, and makes our favourite clothes even more special!
