All wood is beautiful and we get the opportunity to work with a lot of very interesting stuff with the broken furniture we find! But we got our hands on some very special stuff this year and set it aside to piece together into a small collection of "Premium" Darning and Weaving Bundles.
The work surfaces are the showstopper in this bundle, and paired with the rainbow-lined snap pouch it's a handsome set! The majority of the wood we used for these looms came from floorboard offcuts we somehow managed to carry home on our bikes. The floorboards all had grooves on the underside which we cut deeper in order to fill with a contrasting wood, which also has a funny story... It is teak from a beautiful wardrobe imported with an entire family and their lives in the 1960s, from Bangladesh to Canada. Elysha purchased the wardrobe thinking it would work in their bedroom, but alas, it didn't fit up the stairs. We've reused the wood many places, and these stripes are evidence of the smaller offcuts still remaining.
